Psychology Training in Alcohol Research (PTAR) Fellowship
This is a two‐year appointment, commencing no earlier than July 1st and no later than December 31st of each year, within the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and the Addictive Behaviors Research Center in the Department of Psychology, and is funded by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (Principal Investigator, Dr. Mary Larimer). This fellowship will provide training for individuals who wish to pursue a career in alcohol research, with an emphasis on the etiology and prevention of problem drinking and alcohol dependence. As this topic will be approached from both psychosocial and bio‐behavioral perspectives, individuals with background training in relevant areas of psychology (clinical, health psychology, behavioral neuroscience, social, developmental, cognitive, behavioral pharmacology, etc.) are encouraged to apply. Both human and animal research will be supported.

Substance Use Disorders Postdoctoral Fellowships, VA Puget Sound
The VA Puget Sound Health Care System (Seattle and American Lake) announces the availability of 13 first-year positions in our Postdoctoral Fellowship program, beginning in August 2018. All fellows participate in advanced training in clinical psychology, with a focus in one of 10 areas: PTSD, Substance Use, Neuropsychology, Couple and Family Care, Primary Care, Rehabilitation, Telehealth, Specialty Medicine, Serious Mental Illness, and Mental Health (Anxiety and Mood Disorders). Our program is APA accredited in Clinical Psychology as a single, integrated program.
The Substance Use Disorders Fellowship, with two first-year positions available, emphasizes the inter-professional treatment of substance use disorders in conjunction with the Seattle VA's national Center of Excellence in Substance Addiction Treatment and Education (CESATE). The resident will spend approximately 70-80% time working within interprofessional teams providing evidence-based treatments and practices to Veterans with a variety of substance use disorders. Additional time is devoted to didactic seminars, program development and evaluation, and clinical research. The duration of the CESATE fellowship is one year. The possibility of renewal for a second year, following completion of the accredited fellowship, can be considered for fellows with further advanced goals in administration, education and/or clinical research.
