Actors will be required to perform a secret shopper research protocol in the greater Seattle area. Sometimes they will also play an “observer" or “friend of the secret shopper” who watches the interaction between the secret shopper and the salesperson. Both the secret shopper and the observer will be required to later record events and return completed data collection forms to the research team for analysis. Qualifying actors must be able to:
- Prove that they are 21 years of age or older
- Look under 21 years of age
- Provide a valid college ID (even if not currently enrolled in college)
Actors must be able to work as a team professionally and responsibly with another actor for hours at a time while conducting secret shopper visits. Actors will be transported to test locations by a research staff member.
These positions are working under a federal research grant overseen by professional research staff, and actors will be hired as independent contractors.
Actors will be paid $30 per hour for approximately 30 hours of work per week for 2 weeks during November and December 2016. A schedule will be provided in advance along a short script and paid rehearsal time.
