On May 20, 2016, the UW Alcohol & Drug Abuse Institute hosted its 2nd research symposium on marijuana in Washington State. This 1-day event featured experts from the UW and other research and community organizations; nearly 200 people attended from research, policy, public health, treatment, and prevention communities.
Presentations and Q & A sessions explored new and persistent questions from the changing landscape of legal marijuana, including:
- New policies, new challenges and opportunities
- Marijuana and public health
- Prevention, brief intervention, and treatment
The Keynote was presented by Rosalie Liccardo Pacula, PhD, Director of the BING Center for Health Economics and Co-Director of the Drug Policy Research Center at RAND Corporation.
