Lisa R. Thomas, PhD, a Research Scientist at the UW Alcohol & Drug Abuse Institute, has been selected to receive the Young Investigator Award for Excellence in Research from the Native Research Network, Inc.
Dr. Thomas was nominated for the honor by Dr. Joseph B. Stone from the Gallup Indian Medical Center BHS, and by Dr. Diane J. Willis President of Div. 35, Section 6 (Alaska Native/American Indian/Indigenous People) of the American Psychological Association.
Dr. Stone praised Lisa for her work as a psychologist focused on the "health and well-being of her First Nations relatives. Nothing could be more honorable.
