Washington State has new rules that limit outdoor alcohol ads, to reduce youth exposure to them. In addition, many adults don't know how serious the legal penalties are for providing alcohol to minors. To address these issues, the WA State Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking (RUaD) launched a statewide campaign in 2010, and now they are helping local communities draw the line between youth and alcohol by providing a stipend of up to $1000 to help fund campaign-related activities.
The goals of the "Let's Draw the Line" campaign are to:
- Raise awareness among adults of our state’s new outdoor alcohol advertising restrictions, and
- Raise awareness among young adults and parents of the legal penalties for providing alcohol to minors.
School clubs, community coalitions, tribes, scout troops, church groups, and others are signing up to sponsor activities in their local communities. Learn about the statewide campaign, and apply for funding so that your organization can participate: http://www.Letsdrawtheline.org
