The Confederation of Northwest Addiction Research Centers at the University of Washington has organized a new graduate course on "Addictions: Mechanisms, Prevention, Treatment." The intent of the course is to help train the next generation of researchers by providing them with a multidisciplinary view of the issues and language necessary to understand the broad scope of addiction research.
Conjoint 556 will be offered for the first time in Fall 2007, each Wednesday from 3:30 -5:20. The 2hr sessions will start with a 50 min lecture open to everyone (faculty, students, postdocs, and research staff). These lectures will be recorded and posted for those interested but unable to attend. Attendance during the second hour will be restricted to Instructors and graduate students registered for credit.
The Confederation, which comprises 17 research and training centers at the UW, was created in 2006 to enhance coordination among the centers and facilitate collaborative new projects. http://adai.washington.edu/confederation/
